Hiking
In the heart of the Vosges mountains, in the Bruche Valley, our holiday cottages are the ideal starting point for exploring the region on foot. The trails marked by the Club Vosgien start directly from Wildersbach or a few minutes away by car: family walks in the forest, viewpoints with panoramic views of the ridges, or long, challenging hikes at altitude. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains in the evening, while having access to the most beautiful tourist attractions in the region.
1 TO 2 hours
Perfect for families with children and seniors, these walks follow gentle forest paths, along streams or around villages. The elevation gain is slight and the paths are well maintained. You can enjoy nature without any particular effort, with the option of stopping for a picnic in a clearing. Ideal for a first taste of the Vosges in the morning, before returning to the lodge for lunch.
2 TO 4 hours
These routes lead to viewpoints offering magnificent panoramic views of the Bruche Valley and the surrounding peaks. The elevation gain is moderate, accessible to most walkers. These hikes are ideal for mixed groups who want a little physical exertion while enjoying beautiful views. You will leave with memorable photos of your stay.
Half day or full day
For experienced hikers, the Vosges mountains reveal their most beautiful secrets: panoramic ridges, high-altitude lakes, preserved peat bogs and deep forests. These routes require good physical condition but reward the effort with exceptional landscapes. Our lodges serve as a comfortable base camp: you set off early in the morning with your picnic, and return in the evening to join your group for a shared meal and stories about the day.
Forest trail leading to an impressive 25-metre waterfall and the ruins of the medieval castle of Nideck. Accessible all year round, this is a popular family hike that combines nature and heritage.
Forest loop starting directly from Wildersbach, ideal for a first outing with children. Shady path in summer, very pleasant for discovering the flora of the Vosges without difficulty.
The Donon (1,009 metres) is one of the iconic peaks of the Vosges mountains, crowned by a Gallo-Roman temple. A challenging but unmissable hike for enthusiasts. 360° view of Alsace and Lorraine from the summit.
Our lodges have a dedicated room for storing muddy shoes and rucksacks. The laundry room allows you to wash your hiking clothes. The large, fully equipped kitchens make it easy to prepare picnics for your outings and organise convivial meals in the evening after your exertions.
Good hiking boots, 1.5 litres of water per person, energy snacks, windproof jacket even in summer, map or GPS. Walking sticks are useful on steep ascents and descents. Remember to bring sun cream and a hat in summer.
Spring and autumn offer the best conditions: pleasant temperatures and magnificent colours in the forest. Summer allows you to enjoy the shade of the woods, ideal for escaping the heat of the plains. In winter, some trails are transformed into snowshoe routes when the snow arrives.
The Club Vosgien maintains and marks the trails with a colour code (red rectangle, blue triangle, yellow disc, etc.). IGN maps at a scale of 1:25,000 are recommended for long hikes. For family walks, the signs on site are more than sufficient.
